History of the VW Campervan's
The first generation of the VW Campervan was built and launched in 1949 at the Geneva Motor Show - know as the ‘Splitty’ it was based on the original Type 1 VW Beetle. It grew from strength to strength with more models including the VW Kombi, VW Panel Van and VW Pick-Up being released and within 5 years there were more than 50 versions of the VW Transporter available.
